Brendan Walsh

Brendan Walsh will be accompanying the Athenry Youth Orchestra on guitar when they perform as part of the fringe festival at Bunratty Folk Park. The orchestra will be playing a concerto composed by Brendan as part of the repertoire.

An International BA Music graduate from NUI Maynooth and the Lemmensinstitute, Leuven, Belgium and a two time Masters in Music Performance graduate from Dublin Institute of Technology and from the Hochschule Luzern – Musik, Switzerland. Brendan is an active composer and premiered his first guitar concerto at the National Concert Hall with a commission from the Music Matters organization. A revised composition of this concerto is being played with Athenry Youth Orchestra. His compositional output ranges from solo to orchestral and has had his music performed in public recitals many times across Europe. He is also part of crossover traditional Irish/classical group Trio Elatha, he plays banjo and sings with The Led Farmers and is the front man of Penguins by Choice.
