Ciarán Hope

Ciarán Hope composed the piece ‘Erry Jig’ for the Young Orchestral Pops 10th anniversary CD, ‘Concert Favourites’. For the 20th Festival, YOPs will be premiering an updated version of the piece.

Ciarán is a former Fulbright Scholar in film music, and as worked on many successful film and TV projects. Most recently he just completed the film score for the Hollywood film, The Letters, which is based on the life of Mother Theresa. He also worked on The Insider which received a Golden Globe nomination. Besides his prolific career in film scores, he has been commissioned to create pieces for organisations such as the Czech Clarinet Quartet and the Latvian Ministry of Arts and Culture. More recently, he has just finished a new violin concerto that was commissioned by Cora Venus Lunny via an Arts Council of Ireland Project Bursary Award.
